Overview
About Me
Born and raised on the beautiful west coast of Ireland after school I moved to Dublin where I studied and recieved a BA in Drama. After my studies I decided to work and travel and my first location was British Columbia in Canada. I spent some time in a ski resort and in the city of Vancouver where I had a broad range of jobs from hospitality and kitchens to landscaping and painting. After 2 years and a bit I left Canada to travel Central and South America. However, after 4 wonderful months in Mexico, my plans were cut short by a worldwide pandemic, which you may have heard about. This brought me home where I eventually started working again, then traveling, then working, traveling, until I decided to move to Hanoi last December to teach English.
This has brought to my travels of South East Asia. I am hoping to take a break from the hostel route and experience the country from a local experience. I am interested in learning and sharing stories and hearing about life, culture, and traditions here in Laos.
I am quite adventurous and love the outdoors, hiking and swimming. I love food and to learn about local dishes and how to cook them. I want to learn about the history of the places I travel so I understand the country more. I hope to hear lots of stories and learn some new skills a long the way. I am also happy to share any of my stories and knowledge as well.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on couchsurfing because I want to escape the tourist trail and experience the life of the places I visit from a locals perspective. I want to learn listen and share, make some new friends, some new memories and have meaningful connections.

Music, Movies, and Books
All kinds of music but I listen to a lot of Indie/Alternative music
Love some non fiction books that help broaden my knowledge. Books that touch on philosophy are very interesting to me. I also like dystopian style books too.
Love a good psychological thriller. Movies that mess with your head!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked Mt Acatenango, a volcano in Antigua to watch Mt Fuego erupt every 15min for a night.
Teach, Learn, Share
Open to all of these whatever will come up!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer to help with anything they need. I am good with my hands and happy to help out with any projects hosts have going on. Would love to experience some of the worklife of the people. I was a tour guide at home and happy to share some culture, stories and history of Ireland. I also was an English teacher and can assist in improving your English. Also happy to speak English with friends, locals, and children who want to learn.
