About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I aim to meet new people and experience new ideas and cultures, as roaming the world as an independent traveller has brought me in contact with many unique and friendly people, broadened my interests and inspired me to be more creative. I'll be living in Taipei for 1 year, and I recently taught English at a small hagwon in South Korea. A little nervous to be starting again in a new country, but mostly very excited!!
ABOUT ME
I'm a pretty relaxed guy, love traveling and excited to get back into it, I love comedy and have tried some stand up comedy (have been good and bad), I've written and directed a couple of short films but nothing recently. Love anything that's heavy on irony or stories that are multi-layered with interesting and complex characters. And enjoy breaking out the guitar every now and then.
I'm also like most other typical Aussie guys in that I like a good beer and good game of football. Preferably there's also a bbq nearby. :)
Like most, I enjoy new adventures, keeping active, nature, being around good friends and some stimulating conversation.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to keep things in perspective and not sweat the small stuff. I haven't travelled for a while now and really excited to get back into it. I wouldn't say I'm much of a spiritual person, but I definitely believe it's all about the journey, not the destination. The journey so far made me mild-mannered and open minded, and allowed me to appreciate the places I've been and people I've met along the way. I love good conversation, having a laugh and exploring my creative side.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far I haven't had the opportunity to host, but looking forward to hosting a few people who may happen to pass through Mungyeong.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Has been limited to surfing, and has been only positive! I started in Canada and a fews years later did some more couchsurfing in Bogota, Colombia.

Music, Movies, and Books
Too many movies to mention.
I enjoy pretty much any genre of music except for heavy metal. Especially like anything bluesy, with a good tune, or something funky that just makes people want to dance.
I really need to read more, but I've read most of Ben Elton's books and enjoyed them all. I also enjoyed Sam Harris' audiobook on Free Will and most of his podcast interviews are worth a listen too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Bunjee-jumping in Canada, and (naively) sailing in a small boat with limited experience from Sunshine Coast to Vancouver, Canada.
Teach, Learn, Share
Anyone with an interesting story to tell, or knows they have their own unique perspective on things which they enjoy sharing, and people whose experiences have shaped them into being appreciative and passionate.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm tidy and respectful and I love to share laughs, stories, good conversation and good times while we form new friendships.
