Hi! We are Jolien and Glenn, enjoying life to the fullest in our mid-30s. We love to laugh, we love sunny days and we love going out with friends. We prefer spending all of our time outside in the sun. Whether it is to workout or have a drink somewhere: if the weather is nice, you can find us outside.
Of course we like to travel as well. Why else would we be on couchsurfing website? When we travel, it doesn’t necessarily have to be far away. We enjoy small outings or city trips just as much. As we travel we love to explore new cultures, getting to meet new people and getting a taste of local life. If there’s a good restaurant nearby, we don’t want to miss out.
At home, in Ghent, we spend our time working out, watching Netflix, meeting up with friends and family, taking and editing pictures, roaming through vintage clothing shops and taking care of our plants.
We really like taking our time to enjoy a good and large breakfast. Getting up, working out and spending the next few hours having brunch describes our perfect morning.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a fun wat to get to know new people. We’ve both done it before: Jolien has couchsurfed in Australia, Glenn in India and Thailand.
We really like to be immersed in a different culture. Couchsuring seems like the perfect platform to do this.
We hope that couchsurfing will allow us to share some nice stories, meet new people and create fun memories. We love to travel and especially travelling that allows us to catch a glimpse of life ‘as it is locally’.
We are looking forward to our couchsurfing moments.

Music, Movies, and Books

We both enjoy house and electro music as well as music from the 60s and 70s. Consequently, we both have long spotifylists that we regularly listen to.
We can often be found watching Netflix. We enjoy watching series like “Friends” and “How to get away with murder”.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Whale shark snorkeling in Donsol, The Philippines .
Snorkeling with whale sharks and seeing the biggest fish in the world upclose, was an incredible and unforgettable experience. Donsol is a small fishing village with not a lot of things to do or see. At the time of our snorkeling experience there were only 4 other tourists present. What made the experience even more unique was our drive back to our hotel in Legazpi. We used local transportation and were the only tourists doing so. This resulted in a lot of fun memories that we’ll never forget.
