About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Find inner peace, live with love and have an indirect and positive impact on those I meet. Live in the now of this trip!
ABOUT ME
I like to be outside. I very much enjoy meeting new people. I love to read, have good discussions (preferably around a campfire), enjoy drinking beer, enjoy traveling as well as bike riding and sometimes I combine the two. Love helping others find their adventure. I do that as a co-founder of a non-profit that leads educational bike camping trips in the Chicago region (Out Our Front Door) as well as a Student Advisor for folks looking to get certified and teach English abroad (one of the most formative years of my life was teaching in Colombia).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I got a chance to host a few amazing surfers a few years ago. After that, I began a long dreamed of period of travel. I to couch surf a bit throughout. When I'm in Chicago, I really love to meet and host travelers and share their stories and do my best to show them around the amazing city of Chicago.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted a few times now and I freaking love it and the great people I have met and spent time with thanks to couch surfing connections. Hosting is an art and I always want to learn more about this art through experiencing hosting and being hosted.
Interests
I love to (in no particular order): party, read, learn spanish (other languages to follow), listen to music, bike ride, travel, chill in my backyard, camp, learn about and teach about my local nature and history, BBQ and to have intelligent conversations as well as unintelligent conversations.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't watch movies often. A couple of recent ones that stand out are 5 Easy Pieces, Crash, The Departed.
I don't know where to begin with music but definitely have to say Bomba Estereo, La Santa Cecilia, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and certainly Neil Young.
Don't know where to start with books either, but some that come to mind: East of Eden - Steinbeck, The Razor's Edge - W. Somerset Maugham, Walden - Thoreau, Siddhartha - Herman Hesse. Leaves of Grass - Walt Whitman!!!!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I studied in Merida, Venezuela for a semester. Backpacked through South America for 4 months. Rode my bike from Vancouver Island to Portland, Oregon. Worked in a few inner city Chicago Public Schools for the past 4 years. 3 year travel adventure from Chicago to Alaska through Latin America and back again.
Teach, Learn, Share
All. Especially inspiring travelers.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Some cool stories (even have studied and done some public story telling events). Good conversation.
