About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Get fit, be friendly, be more awesome.
ABOUT ME
I'm a renewable energy control systems engineer. The kind of guy who props up wobbly tables in restaurants and fixes leaking toilets out of habit.
I love taking things apart, running in warm rain, and getting into heated discussions about morally relativistic things. I tend to open up with discourse on the human condition, international politics, and the effects of religion on society. Not such a fan of bars, as when behaving regularly people look at me and ask "Have you been drinking?" in disbelief.
I love movement, music, and dance, and over the last year or so have really discovered the joy of Parkour. I'm also working quite hard on various night-job activities related to indoor agriculture.
PHILOSOPHY
Get ripped, have fun, and be more awesome. People are generally good, and cheerfulness is contagious.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't been very active as of recent.. I have a smaller house now than I used to, and am busy running my small startup out of my second bedroom. It's.. pretty crowded in here these days. My lab space is, however, pretty epic.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have been active here for some time, and consider sleeping on someone's couch to be a fine way to travel. Much of my couchsurfing experience hasn't come through this website, but rather through friends of mine and sometimes chance encounters. My experience in all cases has been almost universally good.
Interests
Engineering, theater, a cappella, dancing, movement, questioning, reading. I'm currently on a veggie-based eating binge, losing weight and feeling great.

Music, Movies, and Books
Swing music, a cappella, writings by Winston Churchill. Best musicals ever: Singin' in the Rain and On the Town. When I work out, I rock out to dubstep and electronica, and rather enjoy various forms of folk as well. I devour books, reading several at the same time depending on where I am during the day. My current reading trend is human behavior, which is a fascinating thing to study.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I met Donald O'Connor, at his last public appearance before his death, and was able to convince him to sign a pair of my tap shoes. My current bit of amazement comes via movement: I train at a gym that also has an aerialist performer school, and I think that's some of the most beautiful movement I've ever seen in person.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to dance, and am a pretty good swing dance, blues, and lindy hopper. I also tap dance and sing. My real expertise is in engineering, particularly renewable energy systems and getting information you need from far away places via electronic means. I like connecting with people in an honest way, sharing life experiences and feeling ups and downs.
