About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Back in Austin! I'm excited to explore the area with fresh eyes and meet new people who could become new friends.
ABOUT ME
Texan to the bone - but I never knew it until I left... I love traveling and attempting to learn languages. I've done fairly well with French so far and like to pick up various phrases from different languages just for fun. I took a break from school for 3 years during which I worked as a manager of a wireless help desk for a couple of Fortune 500 companies. I started private tutoring and got inspired to get back into teaching. I was in NYC from Aug 2015 - Jan 2018 doing a Master's program to teach French as a foreign language to adult learners (ages beyond K-12).
PHILOSOPHY
"We cannot discover new oceans unless we have the courage to lose sight of the shore." ~Andre Gide...
I don't know about the afterlife or even reincarnation - just that this is our one life that we know right here, right now. So I intend to live it fully.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Dec. 22 2007 I set off for my first experience with some cool guys in Switzerland!! It was amazing! I was there about a week and would love to go back for more someday! CSed in Barcelona, Granada, and also Angers, France. Last time I CSed in Europe was in 2008 in Ireland - nice folk over there!
I last couchsurfed in San Francisco over New Years Eve 2009ish. It was a blast!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I found out about CouchSurfing from a friend of mine who traveled around the world for 8 months alone. I trusted his opinion about the whole thing and haven't regretted it since.
I enjoy meeting travelers for a coffee or attending some live music, going for a hike or swim, etc.
Interests
I love photography, movies, books, pool/billiards, music (live especially!), food and drink, good company, great conversation and laughing! I also LOVE hiking, swimming, camping and canoeing :-D and star-gazing...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent almost 3 years in NYC! Huge adventure. ...
Mt. Etna - the largest, active volcano in Europe, near Catania, Sicily, Italy - absolutely mind-blowing and beautiful.
The Golden Gate Bridge was fantastic.
Stonehenge is definitely up there...
Hmmm also the starry night in the middle of the Texas hill country - certainly deserves mention

I could teach you some French! or English :)
I'd like to learn..... how to cook more and also other languages.
