About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to surf the 7 seas, in search of the perfect couch! What's yours?
ABOUT ME
From a young age, Ian was always a wanderer. Even at 2 years of age, on a walk with his father, he had to lead the way and explore the world around him. At the Age of 16, he got his first 'real' taste of the world outside his home town of Guelph, Canada when he decided to hitchhike across the country with one of his colleagues. 2 1/2 months later, with what felt like a lifetime's worth of experience, he arrived to his final destination for this journey, in the city of Victoria, BC.
This journey was the gateway to what later became a life long quest, to explore as much as the world has to offer. Living with a motto of "You only live once", he constantly pushes his own limits, in terms of kindness, compassion, understanding, and participation with all the world has to throw at him. With the world as his oyster, and a road full of endless possibilities, you can be sure he won't be stopping any time soon.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to do only good things for others... karma has a good way of catching up to people. I'm generally very happy and light hearted. I feel there's not enough time or energy in the world to waste it on negativity or ignorance.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm quite new to this, but extremely excited about meeting some awesome people around the world!!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had a roommate who was a couch surfer. We hosted a few people in our apartment in Toronto, Canada and had a great time doing so! One couple even performed a music number for a group of friends :) It was a very memorable experience and I hope to have many more!
Interests
Travel is my main squeeze. It's really what I live for. If you like to travel, we're instant buddies. Photography, a close second. I love to dance, I love exploring, food and me are quite good friends, heights and me are not good friends (yet I like to skydive.. what's up with that?).
That's just a sampler... lots more where that came from.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'd say my trip to Antarctica was pretty awesome. Nothing beats sitting in the snow with hundreds of baby penguins hopping around you!
Teach, Learn, Share
Travel - that's an easy one for me to share. Stories, tips, anything!
Photography - if you want to know the ropes, I can definitely teach you.
