About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel, travel, travel...what else?!

ABOUT ME

I'm a travel-obsessed gay guy in West Hollywood, just living a routine life while squeezing in as much travel as possible. Like many people on this site, travel is an all-consuming hobby, and the lure of new places and cultures never fades. Somehow I got a heap of venom from the travel bug, and it appears I'll be afflicted for life. I love the USA, but also love being away from it -- I've spent 4 1/2 years living in Xi'an, China, and have schlepped to about 100 countries. Airports, airlines, planes, runways, lounges, delays, everything about the flying experience is exciting (aside from one of America's biggest embarrassments, the airport TSA). Being sardined in a tight window seat for hours is something I look forward to. I'm a downright whore when it comes to acquiring frequent flyer miles, and will fly cheap, long-way-around routings just for the extra miles. LA to Boston? No, LA to Denver to Seattle to Dallas to Boston. In short, I'm a mileage junkie / plane nerd.Camping and exploring the outdoors is another great thing about life...the scent of pine, the vastness of open space, the purity of clean air, it's heaven. I'm always up for road trips, which is the one of the best features of the United States. Whether a quick run to Las Vegas or a multi-day drive to a faraway National Park, the freedom of the open road is one of life's ultimate privileges. Most people hate long drives, but it's a welcome part of the adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Los Angeles makes a lousy first impression for the independent backpacker-type traveler, especially when one thinks it's gonna be easy taking a public bus from LAX airport!

It's my fellow-traveler obligation to make it easier here and there for visitors. New friends around the planet is icing on the cake.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted lots of great people in Los Angeles, and finally surfed my first couch in El Salvador
