About Me

I am 28 years old traveler from one of the smallest countries in Europe who is trying to see and experience the most that our planet has to offer. Before I began traveling solo I was traveling a lot with my family. When I was 18 years old I decided that is time to begin to travel solo. So I made a lot of trips by myself, with my cousin or with my friends. I graduated from geography and history at Faculty of Arts of University of Ljubljana and in 2021 I started with my master's in environmental and physical geography with geography of tourism. This programme has given me a lot of chances to travel all around Europe.

I also have a couple of Instagram accounts. One is dedicated to my travel photos and the other one is dedicated just to the foods that I try during my trips and in my country

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The answer why I'm on Couchsurfing is very simple. I am not looking at this site as much as a budget option for traveling, I rather see it as an option for meeting great people all around the world with the same interest - traveling and learning about different cultures. The other reason is to meet and host people from all over the world in my home country so that I can show them places around my city or elsewhere in my country

Interests

I have got quite a lot of interests, besides traveling. I am playing the piano from the age of six. I've also started to play the guitar a few years ago. I also enjoy playing basketball and football or simply go for a morning walk or run. I like to photograph. It's currently still my hobby but in the future, I would like to earn a bit money out of it even though I earned a bit so far as well but that isn't worth to mention. When I've got time I also like to cook but I probably like to eat even more. My favorite cuisine is Asian like Thai, Vietnamese, Filipino, Chinese, and Japanese. Besides that, I also like to eat traditional Slovene food (there are 24 culinary regions here so that means a lot of options)

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to most of the genres but I prefer rock and electronic although I probably like rock a bit more. I have been to a lot of rock concerts, for example Bon Jovi (London 2013), The Rolling Stones (London 2013), Green Day (Trieste 2013, Ljubljana 2017), Foo Fighters (Vienna 2015), AC/DC (Zeltweg 2015), Papa Roach (Ljubljana 2013, Vienna 2017), Linkin Park & Blink 182 (Monza 2017) From the electronic genre I listen for example to Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and some other ones.

I do not have a favorite movie or book. I prefer to watch action, adventure, comedy, historical and science fiction movies. I do not like to watch horror movies or series with an exception of The Walking Dead. I also like to watch some TV series besides The Walking Dead like Stranger Things, The Big Bang Theory and Game of Thrones. I even went to a Game of Thrones experience concert in Vienna last year.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are just too many things to decribe... :D
🔹In 2017, I went on my first long solo trip. I went to South-East Asia for almost two months. There were some things there that I've done for the first time, for example, I've learned how to ride a motorbike in Phong Nha National Park in Vietnam and for that kind of a motorbike I would have needed a license back home for sure if I wanted to ride it. And the other thing was eating insects, including a spider in Cambodia.
🔹In March of 2019 attending an NBA game between Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat, together with several thousand of fans from Slovenia that came to Miami just for this game 🇺🇸🏀
🔹In November 2021 experiencing Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) in Michoacán state of Mexico 🇲🇽
🔹In November 2021 climbing Acatenango in Guatemala in order to see El Fuego volcano erupting at night 🇬🇹🌋
🔹In January 2022 exploring the colorful villages and nature of Colombia and shortly after seeing the nature wonder of the migrating monarch butterflies in Mexico 🇨🇴🇲🇽🦋
🔹In May 2022 exploring the vast world of dinaric karst of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia with my university department 🇧🇦🇭🇷

Teach, Learn, Share

Unfortunately, I can't host anyone at the moment because we're renovating the apartment. Otherwise, I would still like to show you around my city and country if I've got time. Besides the most known places in Slovenia I know quite a lot of places in my city and elsewhere in my country that are not that known to foreign tourists yet. Even though you can get practically anywhere in Slovenia within 3.5-4 hours by car or other transportation there are a lot of places to discover here so I would recommend staying here more than just a couple of days or something like that.

I can also teach my native language - Slovene to anyone who would be interested in that because there are less than 3 million people in the world who speak it besides that Slovene culture as well.

I'm willing to learn every language and culture, especially those ones that aren't that known.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm communicative and friendly. I can share a lot of different stories from my travels.

If you received a request from me that means that I found you and thought we will have a good time together like exploring city, and trying the local food that is of course if you aren't too busy in that case I'm completely fine with exploring the city by myself.

Ps. Don't be a surprise if I bring you some gift from my home country because that's what I do and that's probably the least that I can do in exchange of staying at your place
