About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To enjoy life to the fullest, keep learning and discovering new places and things, meet interesting people
ABOUT ME
Variety is the spice of life. That could easily summarize what I believe in and what I like. I like to try new foods, sports, art media, meet new people to learn about new ideas and ways of thinking, traveling to make me question what I take for granted, how I think and how I act, drawing for meditation, ballroom dancing to laugh when I'm unexpectedly twirled or for its passion. I am part English, part French and part Indigenous so I can be quite detached at some times and passionately involved at others. I love cooking and meeting people from all walks of life. I am happily married to John.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that I can make a difference, however small, in other people's lives. I think the whole point of living is to learn how to live together in harmony with each other and our environment in as happy a manner as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love comedies, musicals, artsy films (like Amelie), suspenses, science fiction (Dune), children's films (Harry Potter, Finding Nemo, etc), romances (Ever After). For music, I love oldies, jazz (not the kind where the musicians sound like they're going off on their own tangent), bossa nova, samba, vallenato, bachata, opera, French (Edith Piaf), South African (Ladysmith Black Mambazo), native flutes, etc...
For books, I love non-fiction (Infidel, the Book of Negroes, Water for Elephants), fiction and particularly historical novels, novels from Asia or Russia, science fiction, intelligent books (Shake Hands with the Devil, Tipping Point), etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Visited two Shipibo Indian villages 12 hours into the Peruvian jungle and got to talk to the communities and saw a grey dolphin in the Ucayali River on the way back to town
Teach, Learn, Share
When taking a cab in Dominican Republic, Peru or Bolivia, always have small change because they will not have any.
Keep a few bills in your pocket and a few in your purse (ontop of your pocket).
Bring a lock and lock your passport and extra money into your suitcase in your hotel. Keep your driver's license on you for ID. Don't carry your credit cards or debit cards routinely with you. Get cash from a machine and lock your cards in your suitcase.
If you stop a cab in Peru always bargain the price before you get in.
Bring a Nalgene bottle and Pristine (a type of chlorine) to treat your water. In a pinch, fill a recycled water bottle with tap water and put it in the sun for 6 hours if it´s sunny out.
