Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It's given me the opportunity to get me out of my small shell and explore and meet the most warm, helpful and talented people from all walks of life, age groups and nationalities...Some of my international trips just wouldn't have been so smooth & not to mention economical if not for my wonderful hosts there or the valuable information & tips provided by the seasoned travellers here.

Interests

Comedy, TV shows, startups, business quizzing, music, photography, blogging, DIY crafts, home decor, dreaming of a quaint cafe someday, and traveling. (shocking!)

Music, Movies, and Books

It's always tough to do this. I love music and avoid getting into artist/genre modes but to give an idea of what kind of music I like listening to, it's bands like Tool, Radiohead, The Grateful Dead, The Who, Led Zep, Floyd, Phish, Papadosio, Toe, Mogwai, Pretty lights, Blockhead, Thievery Corporation and tons of local/world music. I love attending music festivals and live gigs, discovering world music and sharing it for the larger good :)

Movies: Top off my head: The Bucket list, almost every Nolan, Stanley Kubrick & Woody Allen movie, some Wes Anderson stuff, Life of Pi, V for Vendetta, Argo, Baraka, Samsara, Stranger than fiction, Hugo, Around the world in 80 days, Mulan... ( So yeah I like aesthetically appealing cinema)

Books- Gone with the wind, the Fountainhead, Room, Papillion, Shantaram, The Kite Runner, Life of Pi, A thousand splendid suns, Across The Universe, Lost in the valley of death (You see a pattern here?)

Shows: Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, Sherlock, Mad Men, Game Of Thrones, Seinfeld, The Office, Modern family.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Camping under a star-lit sky, smoking sheesha, on the cold sand in Wadi Rum (Desert in Jordan) and floating in the dead sea (Also, Jordan)
- Doing a 3 week solo backpacking trip to West Europe for under $1500
-Covering the whole Angkor Wat (Cambodia) 60km circuit on a bicycle.
-Walking through/sleeping under rows of Cherry Blossoms, watching Tool perform live, seeing Mt Fuji at the ShibaZakura festival, Temple hopping in Kyoto- ALL in Japan! Japan is awesome
-A solo trip to Australia
-A chopper ride in the Sydney Skies- for free.
- Hot air balloon ride over Cappadocia
-Snorkelling in Ko Phi Phi & backpacking in Thailand with my best friend
-A bike trip to Leh/Ladakh ( home to world's highest motorable roads!)
-Walking through a market with the widest possible choice of meat in Hongkong
-Seeing the mammoth Burj-Khalifa building upfront ( world's tallest building!)
-Roaming the cold streets of New York City all alone in the subzero temperatures, and I still look for the next thing that would sweep me off my feet, literally.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach- Hindi-The national language of India, recycled crafts, some poi spinning, cooking.
Learn- I'm always up for learning and I think every person knows that one thing that's unique to them. So yeah even if it's a style of whistling, go ahead teach me! Would love to learn Poi! Or just be a better person, in any which way...
