About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Kill work.
ABOUT ME
When I'm not teaching, I'm reading a book (literature and political theory/philosophy are the standbys), discussing something academic either in-person or on the internet, or researching my ultimate plan of semi-retiring to an isolated coastal area as soon as I'm finished paying my college loans.
I'm tall, thin, and I have uneven ears.
PHILOSOPHY
Relatively boring pinko anarchism combined with intense loyalty to people who I, well, know for more than 10 seconds, even if I'm not particularly fond of them.
I haven't bothered to rationalize this, because I think I like it and would never want it to change.
I live my life because it's fun and satisfying, and when it isn't, I change it so that it is.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far I've met a couple people locally and spent two nights on couchsuring arrangements, one in Taiwan, one in Incheon.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Minimal. I've gone on one trip that involved couchsurfing. It was great.
Interests
I'm mostly interested in political theory, language, literature, food, "indie" music, electronic music, folk music, film . . .

Music, Movies, and Books
Good ones that are frequently at odds with aforementioned Personal Philosophy.
I consume media the way elephants consume food, so it's best to speak of them in categories rather than individually.
For example, with film . . .
My limited experience with Spaghetti Westerns has been excellent, I am a sap for a good romantic comedy (There are few good ones, and many bad ones), Hitchcock is Hitchcock, etc.
Music ranges from proto-punk to minimal electronic dance . . .
I read old books, and can't come up with any more generalities about them. Mass-market paperbacks of classics or agitprop are the best, as are older how-tos and manuals.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Macchu Picchu, age 17. I feel inadequate trying to describe it.
Teach, Learn, Share
Golly . . .
I have few practical skills. I could show you how to skateboard for transportation and play folk guitar?
Most of my learnin' is from very old books written by white men. I could recommend a few of those, or talk about the ideas from them without reference to the books themselves.
Countries I’ve Visited
China, Costa Rica, Japan, Taiwan, United Kingdom
Countries I’ve Lived In
Canada, South Korea, United States
