About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Total honesty and openess, consequences be damned!

ABOUT ME

I am pretty laid back and like to go with the flow for the most part. I like to make people smile and laugh and I am always up for a silly or serious conversation. I am fascinated by people, how they perceive themselves, how they think and how they interact in the world. I have a great desire to understand things, which helps me in my work but can sometimes get me into trouble when dealing with people. I am a big believer in the Golden Rule so I always try to make people as comfortable as possible. I love dancing (nothing structured, just out at a club) and going out for drinks with friends. Your more than welcome to meet me for coffee (not literally since I don't drink coffee) or a drink but be prepared because if my curiousity becomes peaked I can ask a lot of questions.

PHILOSOPHY

Like I said before, I go by the Golden Rule a lot, so just treating other people how I would like to be treated. I tend to fall on the more optimistic side of things and like to focus on the good in people rather than the bad.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have now had the opportunity to host and surf while traveling. I try to teach something new and learn something from every CSer I meet.

I also try to stay active in my local CS community. It is a great group of people in Utrecht and I participate in the Dutch lessons, monthly meetings and weekly basketball games in the park.

Interests

Books, dancing, physics, psychology, alternative energy, sociology, modern art, cooking, stock market, dogs, cosmology

My interests are broad and ever-expanding. I love having a discussion on just about any topic, and if it is something I know nothing about then you can teach me!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music tastes are mostly electronic (anything from slow and mellow to techno) but I appreciate any genre if the artist is talented and original.
Movies I enjoy are well written and well acted, genre is not as important but I suppose I do like movies that make me laugh. Unfortunately fewer and fewer well written movies are coming out of Hollywood these days. Favourite TV shows are Scrubs, 30 Rock, House MD, Futurama... and Night Court

Books I read are mostly SciFi/Fantasy, these are partly my nerd roots shining through but also I like books to encourage my imagination and I find these genres do that the best.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A Muskox charge me on the arctic tundra. I don't recommend it...especially if you don't like soiling yourself.
