About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Meshing history, documentaries, dance, and deep-marine life into an occupation.... :)
ABOUT ME
Free spirit who LOVES making unique experiences. Learning everyday. I love to laugh! I like to think that I'm a bit spontaneous, quite optimistic (however pretty sarcastic), trust-worthy, and open-minded. Definitely a "left" brain though I thoroughly enjoy science? ;)
PHILOSOPHY
“I shall pass this way but once; any good that I can do or any kindness I can show to any human being; let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd like to start becoming a bigger part of the great groups that are on here and making them more popular in the little city of Gainesville, FL where I reside!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Pretty new to the whole hosting side of things but I think it is one of the best travel tools I've ever come across. I have made more close friends through here that I still keep in touch with than the big group of people back home that I've known all my life. Some of my best memories and adventures have become realities thanks to this site and I will be forever grateful.
Interests
I believe indefinitely in tolerance for every soul out there.
If I'm not traveling, I like to spend my free time with a camera or discovering new music to dance to.
I've got a deep, fearful love for the sea and have been in some discerning states of self when I'm not as near to it as I'd like to be! Water is just grand. Great, big trees of all sorts are pretty comforting too!
I am a mingler, a people person who enjoys thought-provoking conversations that I can learn from- especially over coffee. I am definitely a coffee-admirer who takes a fun interest in locating the origin of beans that have been grounded for me.
I love to be active and don't like dull moments but I appreciate peaceful ones. Enjoying the simple things are just as important as going out on a limb (literally or figuratively).
Music, Movies, and Books
If the theme of any art has an authentic voice, I will partake.
The film that drove me to decide for a life related to the industry was the recent Sherlock Holmes 2, oddly enough; the scene in the forest was stunning and made me cry. Its not a movie that reflects everything I find interesting about life or anything like that, but the original author was obviously brilliant and I do have a fondness for history.
Some other great flicks coming to mind for whatever reason are Breathless, Tracks, The Square, and Cooked.
Go read my friend Nellie's book! It's called Buddhist footprints in a Catholic Heart.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
joined this site and visited 23 countries in 350 days after I graduated high school
....that's not really one I reckon, and maybe I would have done some things differently, but that's not the point. It set the stage for who I have become and I will always encourage others to do something similar!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you a few dance steps from each decade in the 1900s.... Odd, but it's true!
If you can help me improve my French I might steal the rest of your day from you.
SMILE. ACKNOWLEDGE. BE GENUINE.
What I Can Share with Hosts
There are more great people in our great, wide, world than there are not. Always strive to find the commonalities between you and another, and don't let the sick convince you of doing otherwise. Though it may be difficult or seem at the bottom of your priority-list that day, it will always benefit you.
