About Me
CURRENT MISSION
There is only one success - to be able to spend your life in your own way. -- Christopher Darlington Morley
ABOUT ME
An engineer by training and an adventurer at heart. I live off of good stories and new knowledge so I watch a lot of movies, listen to podcasts, and read my fair share of blogs. My adventure is any new experience from outdoors to arts to travel to beer.
I finished/quit my 2nd engineering degree in 2011, spent a few months traveling Europe, worked on rocket in Sacramento, taught science classes in Italy, and then moved to Denver in July 2014 where I am pursuing ALL OF THE ADVENTURES!
My favorite quote right now is: "Home is just not the place where you happen to be born, it is the place where you become yourself." -- Pico Iyer
PHILOSOPHY
The more I understand, the less I can put it into words. That aside, I believe in searching for your passion and I think I do a good job practicing this. I am patient with people and understand myself well enough to avoid situations I don't like. I like the good things and the pure things in life but I don't get too worked up about it.
"The more we learn about the world, the more opportunities there are to laugh at it." - Bill Nye
"If men could only know each other, they would neither idolize nor hate." - Elbert Hubbard
"I used to think that the brain was the most wonderful organ in my body. Then I realized who was telling me this." - Emo Phillips
JUST REMEMBERED
You are an average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. I am at least 20% Internet.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I first hosted in early 2012, hosted lots of folks in Trieste, and now it's all about Denver.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My experiences have ranged from good to amazing so I am really happy with how it is working out. I've made long-term friends, short-term friends, heard great stories, had unexpected adventures, and who knows what will come next.
I always enjoy the range of experiences I can have because the people that visit are so different. I unconsciously match the energy level of those that visit so their energy changes my experience too.
My visitors have cooked me new foods, taught me about their homes and the world, given me a perspective on how cultures vary from place to place, and most surprisingly have given me a new look and appreciation of the United Stated where I grew up.
