About Me

Vagabond poet, student gardener, sometime adventurer. Comfortable in forests and fields, highways and highrises. In perpetual pursuit of experience. I've seen most of the lower 48, and lived in several, northern California most recently. I'm currently travelling for the summer, mostly hitchhiking and riding freight trains. I like to enjoy life, have meaningful conversation, and do my best to leave the world better than the way I found it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am travelling the States this summer, looking for adventure and a new home. I have several friends who have used CS, both as guests and hosts. Mostly, I camp or stay with friends, since I have the good fortune of having friends all over the place. Occasionally, I do need a couch and a shower. Thus, I'm here.

Interests

I like: poetry, comics, live music, sculpture, design, performance art, urban exploration, wilderness adventure, running, jumping, climbing, dancing, psychonautics. I collect unique experience and love to explore the American underground.

I'm about to launch myself into the world of urban farming and radical greenscaping. I'm very excited about it.

Music, Movies, and Books

doom metal, new weird america/freak folk, jug bands, electroswing, edm, samba, etc, etc, etc

vampire movies, mind-blowing documentaries, european art film, samurai flicks, etc, etc, etc

faulkner, hemingway, mccarthy, sexton, beat, french symbolism, occult theory, magical realism, etc, etc, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I volunteered for six months in post-Katrina New Orleans.

I've hitchhiked and ridden trains all over the U.S.

I've been to Burning Man, Mutantfest, Mardi Gras, Feral Visions, Full Moon at the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, Witch gatherings, Rainbow Gatherings, Folk Life, the summer writing program at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics, and I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always interested in skill shares: gardening, cooking, wood and metal craft, sculpture, experimental performance and social interactive art, vagabond travel, survival, and poetry. I have too many interests.

I would love to learn to ride a motorcycle. I want a cafe racer.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a good cook and a decent gardener. I love to clean and organize. I can create sculptures, lamps, and jewelry at the drop of a hat. I am pretty handy around the house. I'm smart. I'm fun.

Countries I’ve Visited
