CURRENT MISSION
Getting to know sunny San Diego
ABOUT ME
I love dancing, traveling, anything to do with horses, interesting conversation, board games, nature and the outdoors. I have a great dog, Lucy. She likes people but may bark a little when you get here. She doesn't get along with all other dogs, but if you have a couch pooch, Lucy can stay in the bedroom and yours can stay in the living room :) I am curious about my Scottish ancestry. I love Latin American culture; especially Mexican. I am fluent in Spanish. I dance Cumbia, Merengue, Punta, Bachata and Rock en Español. I am also very curious about Mongolian culture. I hope to travel there someday. Japan is high on my list of places to go. I have some very good friends there that I would love to visit. Some things I would like to do some day are: scuba dive, sky dive, drive a race car, travel around the world, and learn more dances like Samba, Rumba, Pasodoble, Cha Cha, and Tango. Oh, and go to the Olympics...I love the Olympics! I am generally not a sports fan, but all that changes when the Summer or Winter Games come on. I'd love to see it live some day. A good amount of my vacation time is spent on Burning Man and related events.
ABOUT MARC
I live with my fiancee Marc and his two adult children, Makala and Noah. Marc is a cable installation and repair man with over 10 years working for AT&T in San Diego. Marc loved EDM and Burning Man. He is very creative and handy. Marc is an excellent cook and loves to grill up delicious meals. He has two cats and loves animals. His kids attend college here in San Diego and are very quite and friendly.
PHILOSOPHY
Know Thyself
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been to many gatherings, in addition to hosting and surfing. I find the CS community to be pretty awesome. I socialize with regional CS groups in San Diego, Sacramento, and Bakersfield. In fall of 2011, I camped with 120+ CSers at Burning Man (Couch Surfing members have formed Couch Burners - a theme camp for Burning Man.)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I love the idea of the CS Project and I'm hooked. You meet the coolest people! I only wish I had discovered it sooner. :D
Interests
I love trying new things and taking classes. I am frequently hanging out with like minded people exploring new restaurants or pubs. We also like to take turns hosting dinner night.

Music: Lately: Many of the amazing artists in the Anjuna and Anjunadeep family. Luttrell, Andrew Bayer, Lane 8, Matt Zo, Ben Bohmer, Eli & Fur, Ryan Davis, Dom Donnelly, Seven Lions. Books: My two favorite books of all time are 'Pride and Prejudice' and 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' series, especially 'So Long and Thanks For All the Fish.' I also like some Dean Koontz books like 'Lightening' and 'Watchers.' A book I look through a lot is my 'Norton's Anthology of Literature by Women.' As for poetry, well, I love Emily Dickinson, EAP, and a few Charles Baudelaire poems. One book that cracks me up is 'Letters From a Nut' by Ted L. Nancy (Barry Marder)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am quite partial to the Grand Canyon. I have seen it in the busy summertime with interesting tourists from all over the world swarming to each lookout, and then again in the winter with only a handful of people to share in the experience of seeing the snow covered rim pour fog into the massive canyon like a silent waterfall.
Culturally, my personal favorite experience to date was visiting La Casa Azul de Frida Kahlo in Coyoacán, México. Being in the well preserved home of this great artist just inches from her original works, personal belongings and tools of the trade was like stepping back in time.
OK, I know it said one, but I have to mention Burning Man. It was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. I am a Ranger and ESD CIT team member and have been burning for 9 years. Go to Burning Man!
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: English, basic Spanish, Cumbia, Merengue, sharing recipes & baking.
Learn: I would love to learn how to sew and weld. Other things I'd like to try are: scuba dive, new dances, games, photography techniques, travel tips and etiquette, sky diving.
