About Me

"The path is still long, but it is okay for those who wants to go far"
Hey c'mon, you gotta have a cool first line. People won't read otherwise! :P

Whatever, I am a guy who loves the beauty of Life. My parents are from Philippines, but I was born and raised in Milan, Italy. However, after I graduated from high school I started to work in the US, before coming back to Milan in order to study Sports Science.

Now I am planning to get my undergraduate degree in order to study abroad from an English speaking college. Life is about encounters and English is the language of those encounters, right?

I met a lot of couchsurfers during my trips, though I always meet them as someone else's friend and not as hosts/couchsurfers.

Then well, I am a singer. A wannabe, actually :P
I travelled around Europe with my guitar only. I paid everything just busking on the street. Starting from Milan I moved up to Ireland and finished in Oxford in England. Now I am promoting my music with some live concerts around Italy.

What else? There is a lot to say, so why don't we meet up?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Nope. No cool line here. Just the straight truth: I am broken!
Actually, I think that the things that make you richer are those which cannot be bought with money. Yeah, couchsurfing can be so convenient but the people you get to know are worth more than the money you save.

I travel a lot and Couchsurfing makes it easier to meet local people. I don't mind having a touristic experience in a city, but I prefer way more when I can meet someone who actually lives there and can share the experience. It happened a lot to me and I go back home a lot happier than I would have if I had stayed in a hotel.

Interests

I am a wannabe singer. I actually produced some songs by myself. You should check them out on my Youtube channel (godylart).

Then, I always been involved in sports. If life would be a movie, I would be the best friend of the main character. That kind of person that lacks talent but gives it all, you know? Even though my all is not enough to be the superstar of the movie... eheh ;)

After that, I reaaaaaly really love to read. From entertainment books to much deeper topics, I think books make us smarter and give us the chance to keep our brains working. For real.

Eventually, I have a lot of other hobbies like movies, cinema, manga, cooking, dancing, hiking and sightseeing. So, if we share something it would be so great to meet!! :D

Music, Movies, and Books

Everything that makes me think "It is talking about/to me.. this is definitely doing that."

For instance, the first song I fell in love with is "Welcome to my life" by Simple Plan. I was eleven. You can imagine what I felt like listening to that song. It was MY song. I enjoy listening to Jake Miller, Bts and Seventeen.

About books, I read a lot of "How to be a better person" kind of books, but I enjoy sci-fi. For example, I read all of the Halos and have a lot of different titles of this genre.

Movies (particularly at the cinema) are something I really love. My favorite ones are: Blood Diamond with Di Caprio (great movie), Tangled from Disney (the first atypical Disney main characters... I love them!!) and Tiger Eyes because it made me discover my favorite actress: Willa Holland!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am an American Football coach in Milan. I started coaching at 16 years old. Now that I am 21, I have grown up kids that tell me. "You have been like a father, a best friend and a coach in the same time to me. Thank you for inspiring me in being a better person before being a athlete".

Yeah, despite having seen the Grand Canyon and met great people, those kids are the most amazing thing I have ever done in my life.

UPDATE: From February 2015 to June 2015 I travelled around Europe with just a 70l backpack and my guitar and no money. I started in Lugano and I busked all the way to Oxford. It has been an incredible life experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

I think that learning something new everyday is a great thing. And sometimes, you learn even when you are teaching something. Guess that is what is called sharing.

However, I can teach how to dance hip hop or how to survive when you are caught up in an Italian conversation. But I have a lot of things to share, so just ask! Guitar? Public speaking? Cooking? Just name it!

I would like to learn new languages, because I think it is important to be able to comunicate in the language of the speaker. I feel like it is something like "I am trying to speak in your language because I care about you".

What I Can Share with Hosts

My stories, the silence to listen and, why not, a song altogether. I'm Yours by Jason Mraz is international, aint it?

Countries I’ve Visited
