Overview
About Me
I am a 24 year old, languages and business graduate from Edinburgh, currently living in Brunei Darussalam. I completed a degree in French and Applied Language Studies MA (Hons) in 2012 at the University of Heriot-Watt in Edinburgh after previously studying Spanish and French Interpreting and Translating for 3 years at the same University.
From January to April 2015 I was based in Bohol in the Philippines, volunteering on an environmental programme for Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO). I have aimed to continue volunteering since I moved to Brunei.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Since I've moved to Brunei fairly recently, I would like to meet some new people here, learn a bit more about the area, and also travel abroad to other parts of Southeast Asia.
Travelling is what I love the most, and i'd like to see as much as I can before I am old and grey (although I have quite a few grey hairs already), and as i am based in Southeast Asia, my travel plans will be focused on this area
Languages are also a passion of mine, so I always welcome the opportunity to learn some new bits and pieces or brush up on the ones I already know.
Interests
Since moving to Brunei around five months ago I've enjoyed visiting the trekking trails. Apart from this, I usually try to check out if there are any events going on here with my girlfriend, or play futsal with some of her brothers' friends.
Food is a large part of Bruneian culture, so i also enjoy eating out here.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Most recently, from January to April 2015, I was based in Bohol in the Philippines, volunteering on an environmental programme for Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO). On Bohol I worked with several several youth groups on an environmentally focused project. The main tasks that I undertook in Bohol were: conducting awareness raising sessions on the environmental risks that faced the region, including a seminar to 1000 university students, forming environmentally focused youth groups in schools, petitioning to local government for funding of youth projects, working alongside youth to organise community fundraising events and training young people to become active citizens in their communities.
