Since joining IBM in 1988, I enjoyed a fulfilling career until my retirement in March 2016. My wife and I, both passionate travelers, delight in connecting with people from diverse cultures. We met through AIESEC, the world’s largest student exchange organization, during our university years. My wife, a fluent English and German speaker, retired as an accounting manager from UNO, one of Turkey’s leading bread producers.

We have two sons, both bilingual in English and French. Our elder son, Uğur, initially pursued Archeology at Strasbourg University and now continues his studies at Ege University’s Archeology Department. Our younger son, Umut, is studying Computer Science at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I belive the best way to see and spent the best time in a new city is with the local people, and for the kids the best practice of a foreign language is with the native speakers. In summer I was planning to show my kids around Europe during their school holiday - France, Belgium , Netherlands and Germany , which we did - same for the guests , we know Istanbul (update - We moved to another city Izmir) .
