About Me

I just moved to Lausanne, Switzerland for my PhD studies and am all looking forward to meeting people and becoming part of the (international) community here :)

ABOUT ME

I'm a very active, agitated person who needs to do something at any time, I'm basically incapabale of sitting at home watching TV all day long .
I love being outside in the nature and go hiking or swimming and - as I am from Austria - obviously skiing in the winter ;)
Also, I like to cook and occasionally host small dinner parties.
Besides food, I also have a passion for wine. My greatest passion, though, is travelling - I want to see the world and all of its wonders.
Although I'm a bit shy when Meeting new people, I really enjoy doing so.
I find it especially interesting to meet people from other parts of the world and learn about their way of living and culture.
Also, I am quite open minded and always happy to make new experiences.

PHILOSOPHY

"...And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand - how few
Yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep
While I weep - while I weep
Oh God! Can I not grasp them
With a tighter clasp?
Oh God! Can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?..."

Edgar Allan Poe, A Dream Within A Dream

I like this poem a lot and it represents my personal philosophy of life quite well, because it's about the perishableness of everything. Life is short and you never now what's gonna happen. Every moment is unique and I want to make the most out of it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I only have a few experiences with couchsurfing so far, but they were all great! I think CS is a really great project because it gives you the chance to make friends all over the world and to see more of the life and conventions of the countries you're travelling to than if you just stay at a hotel with other tourists.
