About Me

Energetic and kind
I love to build and create
Laid back and laugh easily

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've stayed with some great people across Canada and the states and had amazing experiences. While I was living in Toronto I had the opportunity to host travellers from all over and really enjoyed having new people around. Now I have a great place in Perth that has lots of room for surfers, so come on down!

Interests

I love playing cards and games. My favourite card games are rook and cribbage. My favourite board games are dominion, munchkin, settlers of catan, ticket to ride, and they aren't board games, but murder mystery nights are really fun.
I love being outside, and canoe trips are the best. I spent 5 seasons planting trees and it was great having that much fresh air time.
I love to sew and have made a few quilts and instrument cases and want to make some more.
I like to go hiking, or for walks and runs.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like most music. Old time/Appalachian, Bluegrass, Folk, Hip Hop, Reggae, sometimes even top40 pop !

Books that I love: A Complicated Kindness (Miriam Toews), Even Cowgirls Get the Blues (Tom Robbins), Me Talk Pretty One Day (David Sedaris), Simple Times: Crafting for Poor People (Amy Sedaris), and The Orenda (Joseph Boyden)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was with my best friend when she gave birth and it was amazingly cool.

Update, my cousin just had a baby and I was there for that one too and childbirth is my favourite thing ever.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to sew on a patch or build things out of wood.
I would like to learn how to speak better Spanish and to be able to fix my own car (beyond body work and paint jobs)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m good at fixing and building things.
I am an enthusiastic dish washer.
I enjoy conversation and learning about peoples lives.

Countries I’ve Visited
