About Me

I am a travelling artist - (@goldleaf2k on Instagram) - put myself on tour, working freelance along the way. #digitalnomad

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a 'digital nomad' - I do short gigs and work that is remote enough to allow for travel. I'm seasoned in surfing on-and-off since 2012, so far through personal networks. It's great to know there is an intentional community culture for it!

Interests

I draw, paint, study graphic design, and make music mixes. I also enjoy learning about tech development, neuroscience, and AI. I listen to a lot of old guys lecturing on philosophy for fun, and I love podcasts.

Outdoors I love to explore, people watch, and visit public art hubs to practice and meet other artists. Other than that I love to chat about life perspectives, and enjoy positive uplifting company.

Music, Movies, and Books

Tunes would be: 'future beats' and 'Phonk' via Soundcloud, Modern Psychedelic Rock, Rap, Vapor/Synthwave, Jazz , Slow metal, Math Rock, Trap Metal

I like to watch social-commentary comedians, vibrant documentaries, plus sci-fi flicks - with a little Anime in the mix. Usually though my focus is on meeting new people and finding new work to make.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was a student at an environmental liberal arts school, Green Mountain College. They owned a small local farm, and I was a volunteer for chores there. As a city kid this was totally different from the life I lived. I learned to herd animals, process raw milk, bail hay, and the like. During a spring break I decided to stay and help out, and ended up lugging hay and doing chores in a blizzard!

Teach, Learn, Share

I was a teaching-intern at a 'democratic school' called Albany Free School, in Albany New York. This is a type of school where kids take charge of their own education and growth. There are fundamentals, that I helped teach, but throughout the day there are many other projects and trips, self initiated by the students. We all pitched in to do chores, conflict resolution, and more.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share artwork, help keep things clean during my stay, and I like to leave one-of-a-kind gifts with hosts and fellow surfers. :]

Countries I’ve Lived In
