ABOUT ME

I'm an engineer previously in self-imposed unemployment, now ensconced in Dublin for some time. I plan to travel again soon for a while, see things and try things and do things and make/eat/break/repair/understand things outside my front door. I enjoy lengthy and broad conversations about topics of great interest to other people. I like challenges that confuse/frighten/bankrupt me that then lead to decadent levels of personal pleasure and a good meal.

PHILOSOPHY

Learn early the difference between hoarding and saving. Money is measured in how little it becomes an obstacle: if it doesn't stop you then you have enough.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to surf gracefully on some of the couches of the world, and to return the favour when I can. Unfortunately my work means I am constantly away from home, so offering a couch is difficult sometimes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

several in France, Slovenia, Syria, Jamaica, Argentina and generally anywhere I can find myself. They have all been positive.

ah...I have an engineering degree and good English. I can sail, tie knots, cook fish and act the maggot. I would like to improve my French and try scuba diving simultaneously. I can turn my hand to most things and most tools, and welcome any chance to show this off to the benefit of the world at large
