I'm a speed freak who's a chill dude. I'm a proud Russian who's a proud American. I like anything fast enough to do something stupid in, but I hate paying the insurance rates for it. I love travel but I don't get to do nearly enough of it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed a few couches, floors, backyards, and even a front porch. I've crashed at friends' places in many states and several countries, and I've had a blast every time.

In Russia, foreigners have always been treated with reverence, due to political isolation, and classical difficulty of crossing the Russian border to see anything outside of the Soviet bloc. This reverence, however, has always been accompanied by a deep-seeded resentment for people whose lives were perceived as much easier, and who seemed to take that for granted. These tensions eased slightly after the fall of the Soviet Union, but are back on the rise through staunch ethnocentric practices of the current government.
