About Me

It's very hard to give a good description about yourself, I think the best way to know how I am is just being with me. However, I would say I am a fun person who tries to make every moment unforgettable, who loves to enjoy life, learning and discovering all the things that our planet and its population can give me. I love to talk and get to know new people and what they can teach me. I am the singer and guitarrist in the band Jean Marc & Johnny Moon. I love reading, art and playing whatever instrument I can get my hands on.

I was born in Badajoz, a Spanish city, and moved to Madrid to study Musicology. I came here with some of my friends and we are having a great time, and are very happy to be here together. Madrid is a great city with thousand of places to visit.

Now I am studying in Southampton for the year as an exchange student.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and knowing new people, and I think Couchsurfing is a great way to do that. Living for a few days with someone is something very special that teaches you things that you would never expect. I am very polite, kind and respectful, and as a guest I do everything that is in my hands to help at home and have a great time talking, going outside, teaching things or whatever we want with my host.

Interests

One of my passions is music. As I said, I have a band and it makes me so happy to play and give shows with my friend Johnny Moon. I mean, music is everything. If you also love it I would gladly explain it to you and teach some things.

I also love to learn new languages and doing cultural activities. I usually go to every art exhibition I can, museums or historical places.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite music genres are indie and folk. My favourites bands are Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead and alt-J, but also love The National, The Strokes, The Tallest Man On Earth, This Is The Kit, The Vaccines, Muse, Xoel López, and so on. I can't write all bands I like, but I know a bit about every music genre.

The movies that left a mark on me are Schindler's List, The Pianist, Into The Wild, Memento, The Intouchables, Pulp Fiction, Trainspotting, and many others.

I read a lot and I can't say all the books I like. However, I can say my favourite writers are Milan Kundera, Julio Cortázar and Georges Perec. I love japanese literature (Murakami, Kawabata, Natusme Soseki...) and my favourites books are 1984 of George Orwell, On The Road of Jack Kerouak, The Name Of The Wind of Patrick Rothfuss, The Unbereable Lightness Of Being of Milan Kundera and probably a few more that I can't remember right now.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you everything I know if it interests you. Especially I can teach you Spanish, things about Spain, how to play guitar or piano, etc. We can have interesting talks about traveling, literature, movies, music, experiences... I love to know about people!

I want to learn everything I can. So anything you feel like teaching me is welcome. When I travel I want to learn everything I can about my host and the city I go. I really love to know about life.

As I said before, we can share moments, thoughts, and who knows, maybe future travels!
