About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I´m on a quest to live new experiences, meet new people, soak in the traits of different cultures and save the princess from the grasp of the Dark Lord. One of those may not be true.

ABOUT ME

I´ve never felt comfortable talking about myself but here goes nothing:

I´m Gonzalo, 26, gemini, Argentinian; born, raised and lived all of my life in Buenos Aires. I´m a soon-to-be cultural anthropologist studying at the University of Buenos Aires and I´m currently working as a QA Analyst / tester at one of the biggest international IT firms.

My spare time is mostly taken by activities related to reading/studying and specially MUSIC. I´ve been singing since I was 10 years old and I still take lessons to be the best performer this ugly sack of bones of a body allows me to be. While enjoying a wide spectrum of music I´m specially into rock, metal and anything that´s intense on the senses, mind and/or spirit of the listener. I currently sing on two bands, one of which has already released a full LP and a music video.

Fun, laid back, social, kind, expressive, well spoken, open minded and a shameless dog person. Let´s hang.

PHILOSOPHY

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Love is the law, love under will.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

First, by begging for some kind of accomodation on any of the places I´ll be visiting on my vacations (first time) in Europe and hopefuly getting a taste of what people are like on different places.

Once I´m done covering the expenses of this trip my idea is the move to a new place (that being the main reason why I´m taking this trip right now, since I won´t be able to do it later probabbly) and have it ready for surfers to come and hang there too!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far but looking forward to them.

Interests

MUSIC: listening and performing. Singing the good part of the day. Playing live with my bands. Reading whatever I can get my hands on. Driving. Video Games. ART on all its shapes and forms. Hanging out with friends. Enjoying the taste of a good beer or the mistic steams of Gaia along with the company of people that are not a bummer :)

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: A Perfect Circle, Alice in Chains, Burst, Deftones, Devin Townsend, Ghost, Ihsahn, Katatonia, Kvelertak, The Ocean, Opeth, Stone Temple Pilots, Textures, Tool and so much more. Then it gets heavier: Slayer, Pantera, The Haunted, Lamb of God, Testament, Exodus, Converge, Mastodon. Then things go extreme: Behemoth, Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Immortal, Bloodbath, At the Gates, and so much more.

BOOKS: LOTR saga, ASOIAF saga, Steppenwolf, Siddharta, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, La Saga de los Confines, The Suicide, Surveillance and Punshment, The Unidimensional Man, Structural Anthropology, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-I´ve see whales breaching out the blue waters of Península Valdez.
-I´ve slept beneath the stars of a high mountain shelter in the Argentinian Andes

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to sing, been doing it most of my life. I have a lot of fun discovering and pin-pointing people´s "natural" predisposition to good singing and teaching them the basics so as to encourage them to get more intimate with music. There´s A LOT of people out there who would like to introduce themselves to some kind of performative art but don´t get the chance or are just too self concious to try it. There´s nothing in this world that I find more relaxing and therapeutic that being a small part of the music one loves. I am by no accounts an expert on singing pedagogy, but I love giving basic tips and watching people get interested.
