About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To build structures and community, to grow food, to do and teach yoga, and to shred the gnar, on skis, bike, or hopefully a surfboard.

ABOUT ME

I am back out on the road again, after recently ending a three year relationship, and like to call myself a peace-loving, gun-toting, tattoo sporting yogi. Basically, I like juxtapositions and not defining myself. I am a Human.

PHILOSOPHY

i believe in the Gonzo way of life. Gonzo means, at least to me, to be weirdly and bizarrely dedicated to your own cause. What is My Cause? Ask me and find out, but it basically centers around the positive expansion of the human experience on the level of our entire species. And about getting your hands dirty (with dirt, NOT blood) to do the work that needs to get done.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After hosting between 2 and 3 dozen surfers at a home in Ashland, OR over the last year, it seems I am back on the surfing side of things.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i have lived on couches as well as hosted out my couch all over Denver, CO, as well as around the Rocky Mountains, mostly Gunnison, CO and Summit County, CO. And now hosted lots of awesome surfers in Ashland, OR. I enjoy both sides of the arrangement, as it is a wonderful way to meet new people. and for the times i needed a couch, people were there for me, so how could i not be there for someone else in need.

Music, Movies, and Books

i am a terrible Bluegrass junkie, though i love music of most every style. i play the banjo and blues harmonica, or at least i am learning to play those things. And I am also super into the new electronic music thing that's happening. Favorite authors at the moment would be Hunter S. Thompson, Douglas Adams, and Michael Crighton. as for movies, i am a huge movie geek. i love movies. most of them. lately though, Zombies in a big way. Also the entire spectrum of the art of comedy. I really really love laughing, and sharing laughter with others

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i hitchhiked to Hawaii, and even somehow got paid to do it. I took my Mom backstage at Red Rocks for STS9 on her birthday (yes, my mom is THAT cool). I've skiied rope to rope at Crested Butte, hitting both boundries in a day and getting maybe the best run of my entire life (so far) down the line in Third Bowl. I've felt one kiss stop time. I've ridden a dozen (at least) of the best MTB trails in the Western United States. I'm not trying to boast, but all these things are equally cool, I think...

Teach, Learn, Share

Do more yoga.
