About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find a place I can call home

ABOUT ME

I'm small, outgoing, messy, lazy, loud and always late. This is pretty much what you have to know about me. I guess my friends references are much more useful to understand something about me. :)

PHILOSOPHY

"As you set out for Ithaca
hope your road is a long one,
full of adventure, full of discovery.
Laistrygonians, Cyclops,
angry Poseidon - don't be afraid of them:
you' ll never find things like that on your way
as long as you keep your thoughts raised high,
as long as a rare excitement
stirs your spirit and your body.
Laistrygonians, Cyclops,
wild Poseidon - you won't encounter them
unless you bring them along inside your soul,
unless your soul sets them up in front of you.
Hope your road is a long one.
May there be many summer mornings when,
with what pleasure, what joy,
you enter harbours you're seeing for the first time;
may you stop at Phoenician trading stations
to buy fine things,
mother of pearl and coral, amber and ebony,
sensual perfume of every kind -
as many sensual perfumes as you can;
and may you visit many Egyptian cities
to learn and go on learning from their scholars.
Keep Ithaca always in your mind.
Arriving there is what you're destined for.
But don't hurry the journey at all.
Better if it lasts for years,
so you're old by the time you reach the island,
wealthy with all you've gained on the way,
not expecting Ithaca to make you rich.
Ithaca gave you the marvelous journey.
Without her you wouldn't have set out.
She has nothing left to give you now.
And if you find her poor, Ithaca won't have fooled you.
Wise as you will have become, so full of experience,
you'll have understood by then what these Ithacas mean."

Music, Movies, and Books

When I watch a fictional movie or I read a novel I don't usually care that much about the plot. Especially because I lately have a lot of problems in remembering what I've read/watched more then few months ago. If I like something it's the overall experience that remains in my mind.

In both movies and books I usually like dark and surrealistic atmospheres, nonsense, grotesque and absurd (but I cannot stand horrors).

In a film I like when the DP was visibly taking care of every detail and the image is that flawless that seems you can almost touch it. I'm a fan of both low and high quality picture. I LOVE animation movies.

I like a writer when is a good tightrope walker among the words. I wish I could read in every language to savor the taste of every vocable. I believe I enjoyed a lot of books by some really good italian translators.

I'm kind of a schizoid when it comes to music. I like a lot of different types of it. When I was a teenager I used to feed myself with a lot of heavy metal - especially black, death, grind and other amusing stuff. Now I'm much more into electro - glitch, industrial, ambient, breakbit, drum&bass, etc...
But I enjoy a lot as well classical music, opera, jazz, italian singer-songwriters, flamenco, noise, post-rock, post-punk, hardcore punk, balkan music, swing...

Please if you don't want to see me cry don't bring me to some posh dance or house discotheque, to a reggae club or to a place where the playlist could include the songs "my Sharona", "stop the rock", "I get no down", "what's up" and so on...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've shared a giant flat in Bologna with other 6 amazing people and plenty of friends always visiting us. Even now that some of us left the city we still are a weird, beautiful, huge family. We shared vegetarian meals, political views, alcoholic nights, recipes to make soap, pizza, liquors, seitan or cheese at home and we always tried to make the world a better place to live in.

Teach, Learn, Share

I firmly believe in sharing and in the philosophy of "do it yourself". I love to learn and I think that everyone can teach me something, I'm just waiting to be surprised again and again!
Myself I think I can cook pretty good italian food so you just have to ask if you want some hint about it. I like to paint and to draw and I know many different techniques that I could teach to anyone is ready to experiment.
