About Me

I'm outgoing, energetic, athletic gal, who strikes up conversations pretty much wherever I am. Going to a party where I don't know most of the crowd is one of my favourite things. People are often surprised when they find out that this lively part-goer with a firecracker laugh is sober and loves it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted people in Zurich and Toronto and absolutely loved it! Recently a Brazilian who I hosted in Zurich more than ten years ago moved to my neighbourhood in Toronto (two years ago). It has been awesome to reconnect with her. It felt like an instant new friend :) I've met her Brazilian friends here and am now planning a trip to Brazil!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Barcelona, Valencia, London, Calgary: amazing!

Interests

My predominant passion is playing and watching rugby. It somehow manages to pop up in most conversations with new people so I guess it's a big part of my life! (Will fill out properly soon)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: pretty basic pop stuff that I listen to while working out, some singer/songwriter tunes, and live music regardless the genre. Help, this is an area in need of development!

Movies: don't watch them too often so I don't really identify with a preference.

Books: Annie Proulx, Toni Morrison, Elizabeth Gilbert, John Steinbeck and some non-fiction (Trevor Noah's bio was incredible! The Silk Roads changed my worldviews)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think camping in the depths of the Canadian wilderness qualifies as amazing: big freshwater lakes, towering trees, meteorite showers, moose sightings, portaging, canoeing, and that satisfying campfire meal and the end of the day.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Well let's see... weather dependant of course but I could teach you how to make a snowman, how to identify Canadian trees, how to play beach volleyball. You could try my SUP. I could introduce you to the magnificent game of rugby!

Learn: I'd love to learn how to make your favourite dish, a few words of your language, or maybe a dance move or two!

Share: My apartment, of course, and my love for this city.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My couch, kitchen, bbq, backyard, and wifi password. In the summer, you may want to use the free tennis courts near my house ( I have racquets and balls to lend). In the winter, there is a skating rink nearby, and I could definitely teach you to skate like a Canadian!

Countries I’ve Visited

Aruba, Austria, Cayman Islands, France, Germany, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, Switzerland
