About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Where you stand depends on where you sit. Or on you sleeping where I sit. Or vice versa.
ABOUT ME
I'm from Montana, moved to Portland, and fate drew me to Astoria. It's kind of neat here.
I've kind of digressed when it comes to travelling in the more conventional sort of way. I used to like driving my car on road trips, staying in hotels, and going with people. But now I enjoy trips that involve no planning, Craigslist rideshare, and meeting as many random people as possible. Quite frankly, it's much more rewarding.
PHILOSOPHY
I like people. Pretty much everyone, actually.
I abhor suburbia, white picket fences, and flakiness in its various forms. I pride myself on being honest and open with people.
I love the West and plan on living here for the extended future.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted a few great people, and surfed with a few great people. Planning on doing some surfing this summer and hoping to build up some cred in the meantime!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
It's been great so far - I've hosted some couples in Astoria, and I really enjoyed being the expert on the history of the town, showing people around, and getting an excuse to do all of the Astoria things that I love like visiting the sea lions and such.
Interests
Running, Current events, Politics (I know, I'm a masochist), more running, hiking, travelling, meeting new people, beaches, mountains, busy cities, sleepy towns.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I've ever done in my life: Swimming with whale sharks in the Sea of Cortez. We were camping on the beach, and I saw the shark-fins out in the water, so I put some flippers on and went and joined them. There were 4 or 5 of them, and they did circles around me, swam right up to me, and let me touch them.
It made up for the fact that I had been stung by a sting ray the first time I stepped into the water by the campsite.
Also, travelling alone in Belize & Guatemala. So I guess that's two things.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can tell you all about the Federal Budget. But you probably don't want to hear it.
