About Me

Hey fellow travellers! I’m a sociable, outdoor-loving Scottish guy, just beginning my surfing journey and excited to connect with kind souls along the way.

For me, travel is all about the people, the stories, laughs, and friendships. I’ve already made some amazing connections solo travelling and I’m always up for more, whether it’s having a coffee, sharing a beach beer, or cooking you a (hopefully edible) meal!

I am currently on a worldwide journey to put my English teaching experience to good use, helping people out!

I know some have misused platforms like this, which is disheartening, but I truly believe most of us are here for the right reasons. To connect, share, and support each other.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’ve joined local events and loved playing tour guide with travelers. I admire the genuine connection and cultural exchange this community offers.

The positive stories I’ve heard have inspired me to give surfing a go.

Couchsurfing feels like one of the most authentic ways to explore and connect to a location, the people and the culture.

I’m excited to experience it myself and share my own stories and skills at the table with you.

Interests

I enjoy being out in nature, hiking, camping, or just exploring new places. Travelling and socialising with new people, having a laugh with them and hanging out is what I enjoy.

When I’m not outdoors, I’m usually reading, catching live music, bouldering, at the gym, or messing about on games online with my mates.

I change interests a lot, always curious, and I’m always up for trying something new, so if you’ve got a hobby you love, I’m keen to give it a go!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books - I’m a big fan of non-fiction.

The couple of books that really stuck with me is 1000 Days of Spring/Summer by Tomislav Perko. It inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and give couchsurfing a go.

---------------

Music - My taste in music is all over the place.

I enjoy listening to some ’80s glam metal (very dad rock) as I am chilling with whatever fits the mood.

Let me know what your favourite song is and I'll add it to my travelling playlist!

--------------

Film/TV - I do enjoy a good anti-hero movie.
Such as Wolf on Wall Street, Gunrunners, Blow, and American Made.

My other favourites are Big Daddy, Moana, Game of Thrones and Doctor Who. I enjoy most genres.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm more than happy to lend a hand around the house, whether it's cooking up a tasty meal, helping out with a bit of DIY (or at least giving it a good try), or being a friendly ear when you need to talk.

I am also now a qualified English teacher so if you are learning or want to improve, I will happily help you out.

Beyond that, I’ve got plenty of stories from my journey to share, I love a good blether (chat), enjoy cracking a joke or two, and I’m always up for a fun night out.
