About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Facilitate health and well-being in myself and in the people i encounter.

ABOUT ME

I try to follow the flow of life and create positive memories along the way. I love experiencing people in whatever way possible, learning from them, and contributing to their experience. I strive to be an active part of the changing of our world for the better.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is influenced by Buddhism and a love for the wisdom found in nature. I also believe in spreading love and kindness in every direction I can. I try to live slowly.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe that in order to know a place, you need to know the people living there. Surface-level traveling is not my style and I value a deeper understanding of the places life takes me; surfing couches is a way to ensure this experience.

Interests

Creating a better world through the shifting of social/cultural/economic paradigms.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love almost all music I have heard. Most recently I have been listening to a lot of jazz, funk, and soul music and combinations between them. I can appreciate, and get into, pretty much all live music. Love to dabble on drums, piano, and guitar as well!

I dig books that make you think! Some authors that roll off the tongue are Gabor Mate, Daniel Quinn, Johann Hari, Crimethinc, Starhawk, Richard Powers, Ruth Ozeki, Tom Robbins, Kerouac, Tolkein...

Movies: LOTR, Princess Mononoke, The Iron Giant, Urban Roots, La Belle Vert, etc etc..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the middle of the night in hammocks at Tonsai Beach, Krabi, Thailand, my friend and I were struggling to sleep because of the mosquitoes and our lack of mosquito nets or repellent. Suddenly an old Thai man appeared with several coils of repellent incense and lit it for us without saying a word. He accidentally lit the cuff of his shirt on fire while doing so, quickly patted it out and chuckled. He smiled at our thanks and disappeared back into the night. This world has amazing people in it and I've been lucky to encounter quite a few of them.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a licensed massage therapist and I love to share this with people. I am a percussionist and love musical co-creation! I have a lot of experience living in communal settings (I live in one now) and enjoy working in gardens, growing plants, good soil, and healthy relationships. I love to talk and share about my experiences, and I love to learn about yours!
