Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
connecting with people, getting inspired by others and being inspirational
ABOUT ME
I am a nomad. For all its good and bad sides, it is no longer a choice for me, but a regular lifestyle. For the last 10 years I have been living in four different countries. It is hard to say where I belong anymore. Right now I am hoping to meet new people in Beijing where I have just moved back after a few years of break.
PHILOSOPHY
every person is exceptional and one-of-their-kind, I like exploring the possibilities this brings with every new friendship
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I joined because I want to meet people who are willing to share who they are and are open to who other people are without trying too hard to prove anything. I am all about connecting and learning.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfing is a completely new experience for me, and I am keen on learning how to participate to the best of my abilities (living with two flatmates and having just one couch in a passing room).
Interests
Books (all kinds: classics, poetry, fiction, non-fiction, academic, philosophy, religion, history, psychology, name it!), films (I like them to have an artistic or intellectual value, I watch a lot of European cinema, with occasional slips into Asian horrors and the cosy blockbuster kind), TV series, art, music (listening and performing - including KTV), yoga, food, travelling and languages (if you are keen on teaching me a new language we will definitely make friends :).

Music, Movies, and Books
as above, but just to throw in a few titles: I am reading Red Dust by Ma Jian right now - an absolute must-read for all travelers and China explorers particularly. Some of my favourite books are George Orwell's 1984 and Michel Foucault 'History of Sexuality' for opening my eyes to how 'everything is politics'. Similarly, I cherish Milan Kundera's 'The unbearable lightness of being' and Haruki Murakami's 'Norwegian Wood' for teaching me how working through tough experiences can be both liberating and spiritually enriching. I admire all the above authors for the subtlety and simplicity of their writing style. Some of my favourite films I can think of right now: Pan's Labyrinth, Arizona Dream, The Double Life of Veronique, Biutiful, Plain Formality, Blood Diamond, La vie d'Adele, Repulsion, Mulholland Drive, Sami Swoi. Music: I have been listening to many different types of music throughout my life. I used to be a big fan of progressive rock and indie rock in the past. Recently, I have been exploring ethnic, folk, electro and dance music combinations. I can't stop listening to Stromae and Buraka Som Sistema: they break new grounds for me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have lived in Poland,England, Spain and China for several years in each country. I have traveled to Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Scotland, Ireland, Sweden, Austria, Guadeloupe, Singapore, Korea and China.
A big chunk of the last 4 years of my life I spent on writing a book (my PhD thesis), which has been one of the most character-refining, self-explorative and emotionally-exhausting experiences of my life.
