About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to discover who I am and to find my place on earth
ABOUT ME
After reading the "Current mission" section, you would understand how difficult it is for me to tell something about myself. First of all, I am a woman and this epitomises contradictions: I'm hard-working, but lazy, I'm mostly shy, but can be confident and very demanding at the same time, I'm cheerful and I laugh a lot, but am also "dark and twisted" at times:-). Most of all, I'm good with people. And animals too:-)
PHILOSOPHY
This is challenging! I have never tried to name the values I believe in, so let me think. First of all, I believe that people and relationships are important in life. I reckon that by nature people are good and that even good people can make bad things sometimes. I like to look for a reason of people's actions and their life stories fascinate me. Secondly, change is one of the things you can be sure of in life. But getting to a point when you are ready to welcome it is a process that cannot be speeded up most of the time. Thirdly, it is good to be aware of your own limitations. It is even better to make an effort to overcome them. Should be enough for now:-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am about to start participating and I'm very curious what this experience would bring to my life. I do have a lot of foreign friends who I met in person first, therefore socialising with people I haven't met yet seems an adventure!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I like travelling although it is difficult to get away at times. I did often stay at my friends' and I have had friends around my house, but these were the people I knew. Have never done couchsurfing before and I'm looking forward to getting the experience.
Interests
I have this urge to keep myself busy so I do various things after work - I learn Italian, practise my English, teach Polish to foreign friends at times, go to a gym, do some charity work (recently taught social skills to teenagers with Asperger syndrome), and dance!!! Dance is my passion, above all - salsa!

Music, Movies, and Books
I read to take my mind off of the everyday life. I usually follow my friends' advice when it comes to what to read. But there are times when I don't feel like reading anything ambitious, when an airport-fiction does wonders to my tired mind. Main-stream possitions aree not challenging to follow. But when I reach for a romantic story, I always make sure the book is written in English. In this way I can justify myself for doing so - then I'm reading purely for the linguistic input. After all, can you find a better source of rich vocabulary describing complexities of people's feelings, moves and thoughts? Adjectives, sophisticated verbs, idioms and spoken expressions - where else if not in a romantic novel?! I like my repertoire of English words to be enriched!
Movies and Music are more tricky. As I said, I love salsa, so I also love latin-americam rhythms. But on daily basis I listen to the... radio. I like songs, not musicians or bands. Some tunes catch my ear, some don't. This sometimes depends on the lyrics that somehow correspond to how I feel, but sometimes just the melody is attractive.
I'm hopeless with films - I never remember directors or actors. I can recognise only a few Hollywood stars but can't be bothered with the gossip about their private life. I basically prefer European cinematographic productions.
