About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Strive to be Fit, Happy and Healthy, and score a few more times before the game is over.

ABOUT ME
I retired last May (2017) and set out in my minivan for fun and adventure. My quest was cut short, as my mother needed a caregiver, and I was available for the task. But her condo will close 3/20/18 and she will move in with my sister. Then I'll be back on the road, looking for adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I had been a host a couple of years ago. I am now on the road and I will be a surfer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only hosted in the past. Now it's my turn to surf!

Interests

New places, interesting people. Beautiful scenery. Kittens. Like to hike, bike, bowl, golf, play tennis. Like to eat good food, drink wine (good preferably, but hey, any port in a storm. get it?) I have never been abducted by an alien, but there have been times I prayed for it. Eat meat, like to cook and BBQ.

Music, Movies, and Books

Boston Legal, Spartacus, The Blacklist. Those are my favorite TV shows. I generally read non-fiction- current events, science, etc. Not into novels. I can go to bed in the middle of a tv show if I'm tired or bored. I don't need to see "how it turns out". I like Amy Winehouse and Adele. Leonard Cohen is fantastic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going to Italy for the first time. Learning how to cross the street in Rome. Climbing the Pyramids in Chichen Itza. Back Packing in Yosemite. Taking a road trip from DC to the West Coast and back. Attending the benefit concert for Bangledesh in New York, with George Harrison, et al. Taking the train from California to Colorado. Driving Gene Roddenberry around in my Fiat 914. Going to Sugar Ray Leonard's house after he brought home the Gold from the Olympics. Spending summers on a dairy farm in Minnesota. Interviewing Richie Havens. Walking to the top of the Washington Monument, and St Peters in Rome. Eating street food in Tijuana. Talking with Steve Tyler at Reagan Airport, before he (Tyler)was really famous. Scamming a press pass for Dulles Airport when the Concorde first landed in the US, and attending the Press Party afterwards, hosted by Great Britain and France; a Party for the Ages. Having the Stanford Linear Accelerator as a client. Making Love with Fabulous Women.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a guitar. Can't play very much. I have a camera that I want to use more often, like every day, and get excellent with it. I can teach photography.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good sense of humor and crazy stories. Always willing to lend a hand in the kitchen, if need be. I always travel with a wine bottle opener.
