About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Ambassador in "Chains for Christ"

ABOUT ME

I'm currently teaching German and English in China. Before coming to China last September 2013, I taught mostly English in Busan, Korea for 15 years. Before my teaching stint in Korea, I was living in Seattle, WA. U.S. I moved to the states when I was nine years' old from Austria.

PHILOSOPHY

As a Christian, I do not drink or smoke. I believe the Bible is God's word and we are formed in God's image. This opinion puts me in the minority among many couchsurfers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My couchsurfing experience is limited. I have befriended two couchsurfers, one from Austria and another person is a former colleague of mine from Poland. I hope to connect with couchsurfers during my future travels to Europe and S.E. Asia.

Interests

I like bike riding, reading history, and traveling to see the sights of God's wonder. I enjoy talking with people especially older people who are wiser than me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like old movies dating back to the 1950-60's. I also like classical music esp. Beethoven and Mozart. During my free time, I like reading novels and travel books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I done: prayed for an injured person who was struck by a car while she was riding on her bike, by praying for her-she was healed instantly. Prayer is power. The second thing which comes to mind: rescuing and saving young Filipino woman from a life of prostitution. Third thing which comes to mind, I was flying in four-seater plane when the pilot invited me into the cockpit and asked me if I wanted to learn how to fly. With gusto, I answered in the affirmative and proceeded to fly from from Boston to Cape Cod on a sunny afternoon over ten years' ago. That was a great experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy sharing my my traveling experience in Europe, United States, Korea and China. From each country, something good can be learned and it can be used to teach the next generation. I'm a very positive guy.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can show you an interesting part of Fuzhou, where the missionaries and other Western dignitaries build schools, churches and homes dating back to the 19th centrury. Many of the old structures are currently being torn down and are in the process of being rebuilt during the year 2015. When all the dust settles, it should be an interesting place to visit.
