About Me

I grew up in small town with a lot of horses in the Northeast US.

Now I live in India. I teach Bhakti Yoga and Bhagavata Philosophy.

I like to travel, meet new people, attend festivals and gatherings, and read and research.

I'm vegetarian.

At the moment I'm away from India, traveling in the West.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've had very positive experiences with the Couchsurfing community. I think the idea is brilliant. Kudos to the guy who started it! (I think he was planning to go on vacation to a college town, got hold of an email list of students there, spam-emailed hundreds of them asking to crash on their couch, had a great experience, and got inspired by it to develop the site!) Anyway, I've had very good experiences with it. It really is a great idea. I think it really helps build community in the world. It's such a totally different different experience staying at someone's home than just staying in a sterile room in a sterile building. There is life in the Couchsurfing experience. Life, connection. Great idea. Very happy to have been, and be, part of it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a good listener. I like hearing people's story.

On many occasions while staying as a guest, the host and myself have gone out for walks together in some part of the city.

Sometimes, as a guest in a city that I had spent time in before, I took my hosts and showed them parts of the city they never knew of before.
