Hello! I currently live in Vienna.

I am from Turkey. I spent my university years in Ankara. Then I left for Canada at the age of 22 and completed my MA and PhD (in Cultural Studies) there. After the adventure of higher education was over, I came back home to work, but never really felt that was where I belonged.

Then I quit my job and embarked on a postdoctoral fellowship in Florence. I lived in Italy for two years, visiting as many European cities as I could during this time. But my heart continued to desire Indonesia.

Then I had a chance to travel through Indonesia for three months this past summer. It was amazing - beyond any expectations I could have. Now I live and work in Vienna, Austria.

I am an academic, which means I read and write a lot. But I also enjoy doing domestic things. Apart from cooking, I like knitting, crochet, sewing etc. Needlework is my form of meditation. I also have a morning routine of yoga, and an evening routine of reading. I do socializing, swimming, soaking up the sun in between. My new goal is to learn gardening, and my new desire is to own a parrot.

I sometimes travel with a friend, and sometimes travel solo. Traveling is a great way to make friends and CS is a great platform for this. Please do not expect me to reply to requests that are made by people who treat it as a dating site.
