ABOUT ME

I am outgoing guy, who enjoys chatting with other people (in any language I can). I had the opportunity to live in multiple countries when I was a kid (following my father to Turkey and Italy) and must have gotten bit by the traveling bug. In college I jumped at any opportunity to go abroad, and I just recently completed a year of service as a teacher in Yanji, a small town in Northeastern China.

Pretty soon, my year of being a wandering nomad will come to a close, and I'm going to have to enter the real world in Chicago. Before that time, I look forward to having many interesting and challenging experiences and meeting amazing people along the way. And after I get back to Chicago, I will open up my home and return the favor.

Taught English in a Chinese town with no other Westerners for one year, and loved it.

Swam with a flock of Manta Rays, 100 ft down, off Gili Trawangan, Indonesia.

Shotgunned a beer on the Great Wall.
