About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Live as if I were to die tomorrow; learn as if I were to live forever
ABOUT ME
I'm a vegan, into juicing, and a pretty good cook. I'm active with dancing, yoga, jogging and meeting up with friends. I'm currently learning Brazilian Zouk dancing as well as Kizomba.
I've studied abroad in South Africa and Germany. I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Niger, West Africa where I lived for 2 years as a rural health worker.
I've backpacked around Europe through Germany, to Czech Republic, Denmark, and The Netherlands. I've also visited Ghana, Burkina Faso, and Zimbabwe.
I'm really passionate about refugee issues and spearhead a grassroots community based organization in the DC area to promote awareness on such issues.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm a global citizen and would love the opportunity to meet and help people coming to my area. Sharing my home is my opportunity to give back for all the kindness I was given when I traveled and lived abroad.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My former roommate introduced me to CouchSurfing.
Interests
I like Latin dancing (Zouk, Bachata, Salsa, Cha Cha, Merengue), knitting, various ethnic foods and cultures, documentaries, and yoga. I like rock climbing too but don't have any friends yet interested in doing this with me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Living and working as a Peace Corps Volunteer in rural Niger is the most amazing thing I've done in my life so far. There's something to be said for giving up all that is familiar and comfortable in the US to live in a mud hut without creature comforts, struggling to learn a new culture and language, and at the same time, being self-sufficient and able to help others. Very awesome experience indeed and so lovely living the rural African life with warm generous locals.
