My name is Grace! I was born in Singapore but shortly thereafter moved to Vancouver, Canada. Here, I grew up and went to the University of British Columbia for a degree in Science. Unfortunately, I found I was not quite suited for lab work so my then fiance and I decided to go for an adventure and move to Calgary. There, I did a bachelors of nursing.

After I finished nursing, I returned to Vancouver to start work at Vancouver General Hospital (and get married)! Together, we have just moved into our first apartment and look forward to hosting some folks just as soon as we clean up our moving chaos!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was turned on to couch surfing by some friends' very enthusiastic accounts of their positive experiences. I am a bit hesitant but looking forward to trying something I've never done before (especially, if it involves meeting new people and making new friends)!

Interests

My husband and I really enjoy travelling! We've followed our appetites for foreign cuisine to several places in the world including NYC, San Diego, Dublin, Singapore, Malaysia, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Bali, Madrid, Barcelona & Lisbon.

Additionally, I love to watch live theatre both locally and globally. Here in Vancouver, we have "Bard on the Beach" which does Shakespearean plays every summer. Additionally, UBC Theatre and Studio 58 put on some high quality productions every season. Internationally, I have seen "Between Riverside & Crazy" in San Diego, "Drum Belly" in Dublin, and "the Phantom of the Opera" in NYC to name a few.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: One Republic, The Script, Ellie Goulding, Daft Punk, Muse, Taylor Swift (because life is too short to pretend you don't like Taylor Swift)... I'm fairly open with music types!

Movies: Star Wars I - VI (& very likely VII).

Books: I'm very fascinated by historical fiction (particularly the works of Margaret George). I love the entire Harry Potter series and the Hunger Games are somewhat of a guilty pleasure. Additionally, "Run", "The Golem and the Jinni", "Out", "Outlander" and most things by Barbara Erskine!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't honestly say I've done anything particularly amazing. It appears my life has consisted of running headlong into adulthood. So, of late, my proudest accomplishment is purchasing a condo in Vancouver, BC.
