I am curious about most things in life, and especially in the people and communities around me. I love board games, rock climbing, riding my motorcycle around and dancing when available. Super down to sail or try other things you have in mind! I have a year of experience sailing Larks but only as crew. My favorite hobby is learning new things and being helpful where I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couch surfing because I have met some of my best friends and acquaintances through this app. Some of the most wonderful people are those who are willing to travel and to share, and I am looking to find them!

I used to only host Couchsurfers to make sure they had a safe place to stay, but now am considering traveling as one myself.

Interests

I study biology, education and psychology with hopes to one day combine them all. While these are my majors, I have many other interests including music (both watching and making; I play the cello), rock climbing, art, swing/blues/contra dancing, agriculture, surfing, hiking and much more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went surfing in Maine in 35 °F weather a few times... Yikes! At least the water was in the mid-50s.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am very interested in learning new languages and improving those I speak. I am happy to share my music/dancing/painting interests with others. Climbing gyms are expensive but fun. I would love to learn better ways to cook and new foods to try. I love baking, but cannot do so (often) where I live now.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would be more than happy to cook, clean or do other chores around the "couch". I have helped with chickens and child care as well.

I have some experience teaching music and ESL, painting houses, running large-scale art projects and also doing some home remodeling if that's something you're into (and if it is a longer stay). I have become a huge fan of making wooden "squatty potties" for the people in my life.
