About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Epic Extended Honeymoon European Adventure!

ABOUT ME

We are newlyweds! We got married a few months ago and set out in late July for our honeymoon: a 3-month journey through Europe. Grace just finished her Masters in Fine Art in painting. Davey is a writer and teacher. We love to meet new folks, love to travel, and love to play host in our amazing city, New Orleans.

PHILOSOPHY

We aim to be decent, to have fun, to enjoy the quiet moments and the loud moments. For us, friends are family, and we're always looking to grow our family.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We like to find the rhythms of local life, nearly impossible without the advice of a local. (This is certinaly true of our home town, where we have guided many a traveller.)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We're new to the website but are always hosting or visiting friends, friends of friends, loose connections. Love to meet good people from far flung places.

Interests

We are creative folks who like music, books, art, movies, new places, familiar places, new pals, old friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Davey currently reading M. Ondaatje and DF Wallace, Grace reading J. Austen and M. Atwood. Movies: currently smitten with Dogtooth, Tree of Life, and Beasts of the Southern Wild (made by our buddies back home!). Music--oh, we could go on all day...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Here's a brand new one: we just visited a sister of a friend in Calcata, an incredible medieval castle village with a lovely community of eccentric folks. We're hoping we can find more interesting spots like this a bit off the beaten path.

Teach, Learn, Share

Grace claims that she can teach anyone to draw, but unclear whether this could be accomplished in a night of couchsurfing. We can teach folks how to make amazing shrimp and grits. We both dream of learning other languages.

Countries I’ve Visited
