About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet people of different parts of the world and widen my perspective on life.
ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Grace and I am a foodie and a travel enthusiast. I graduated from college in 2014 and have been exploring and planning to apply to study International Relations with focus on either International Law or International Urban Development in graduate school.
PHILOSOPHY
“The one thing that you have that nobody else has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and draw and build and play and dance and live as only you can.” — Neil Gaiman
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I mostly couchsurf. I eventually want to give back by hosting other surfers once I move into my own place. In the meantime, I would be happy to meet up with you and take you on a food, architecture, & art tour around NYC:)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed during the summer of 2013 when I was backpacking around Europe. I met some of the most generous, kind, and interesting people during my stay:)

Music, Movies, and Books
Films by Woody Allen, Jean-Luc Godard, Wes Anderson, Noah Baumbach, etc.
Books by Patrick Rothfuss, Haruki Murakami, Zadie Smith, Junot Diaz, etc.
I enjoy indie folk rock, singer-songwriter, jazz, and some house music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have recently traveled to Chicago for a week with a friend with whom I went backpacking this past summer and one day it went down to -16 degrees Fahrenheit! I just could not believe it could be that cold in the U.S. Once I returned to my home in New York, the weather almost felt like spring.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am fluent in both English and Korean so anyone who wants to learn any of these languages or culture can talk to me!
I learned Spanish as my second language all throughout high school but once I stopped taking classes, I have forgotten a lot of it. It would be wonderful to pick up my study in Spanish language again and practice speaking more.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I find learning how to cook local dishes and sharing a meal together is one of the best and memorable ways to learn about the culture and bonding with people. I would often ask my hosts if they would like to cook a meal together and I would buy the groceries needed for the meals:)
