About Me

Hey guys I’m Grace! I major in English Language and Literature and study French as a double major.

★Random stuff about myself

1) I lived in the States for about a year when I was in 7th grade. It was literally the best time of my life as I first learned how to truly accept and express myself there.

2) It amazes me how I get to have different personalities when speaking different languages. I am an introvert when speaking Korean and a bit of an extrovert when I speak English.

3) I did lots of baking for the past few years. I like the whole process of doing it more than I like eating. I want to make perfect macaroons and cakes at some point.

4) I love writing even though I haven't done it in many years. It helps when things are messed up and I want to clear my mind. I used to write lots of letters as well.

5) I like taking pictures and seeing the sunlight coming through. I also enjoy editing.

6) I am a perfectionist with lots of worries! Ha-ha.

7) I love Poke Bowl.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think meeting new people is what makes travel amazing and brings new energy to life. So I guess I wanted to explore the world by meeting all different kinds of people and you know look at the world with broader perspective.

After having lived in the States, I learned that there are all different kinds of lives out there and it was quite surprising. In this sense, I feel like meeting people who were brought up in different cultural backgrounds remind me of the significance of accepting who I really am and realize the fact that I don't have to try so hard to fit into mold. Well, I know I should to some extent but what I mean is that I don't have to work extremely hard to be the same as others.

Another thing about me is that I care about people and that's sometimes good thing and sometimes bad thing for me. I just get really sad when I have to say goodbyes to people that I care about. I learned that it's not really matter of time but the depth of connection between me and the other person. I hope I will meet many more great people here but eventually get to learn how to let them go without being too emotional but just take it naturally.

Music, Movies, and Books

Musical Movies are my favorite! It just gives me full energy. I like the rhythm that makes me dance even though I don't really know how to dance? :0 god that is so embarrassing. but who cares right? Oh I didn't mention the name of the movies...Well here they are: Hairspray, The Greatest Showman, High School Musical.
