About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To connect, to contribute and to learn. To be awestruck regularly. To remember the words of Mary Oliver - “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?
ABOUT ME
I moved over from Ireland almost 2 years ago and am living with my partner on his family farm in rural Tasmania. I am usually juggling work on various community projects, growing vegetables and when I can, helping out with the farm work. I like to think I am an open-minded, compassionate person who likes to have fun, be kind, be humble and contribute to this world. I love connecting with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. My Tassie partner is a well-travelled guy, easy-going and a great host! We both share a love for the Middle East (in case you're from that part of the world!).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Currently open to host and have hosted / surfed / met up with fellow surfers in the past. We live in a very rural area, and as we're both travellers, we love to meet people from far and wide when we are not on the move ourselves.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Years of random experiences: highlights include staying at a permaculture farm in Palestine, partying with the best hosts in Warsaw and C'surfing on Mount Etna in a beautiful hand-carved home.
Interests
Writing, reading (fiction, poetry, politics), music, walking, running, yoga, meditation, food (growing, cooking & eating it!), people, social justice, sustainable living, community, travelling, radical education models, changing the world :-)

Music, Movies, and Books
Eclectic :-) I am a book and music lover so its difficult to narrow it down!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have lived this life :-)
Teach, Learn, Share
Passionate about non-formal education and youth participation, have lived in an eco-village for a few years, interested in community development and organisational change, social justice issues, food, and I'm sure there are a few other things I know a thing or two about :-)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cooking, a laugh, my experience, respect... some local tips for travelling in Tasmania (my partner is from here) and a beautiful place to check out for a day or two. We have a lot of space so we can offer a private room to surfers, which can be nice if you've been on the road for a while :-)
