About Me

CURRENT MISSION

revolutionizing deaf education in america

ABOUT ME

i am a deaf woman living in austin, texas teaching at texas school for the deaf. i love to read books and hang with my friends at the pool or late night gatherings with great friends. i truly want to improve deaf education in america. i am fluent in english and american sign language. i did take a year of spanish in college but i forgot the majority of it. i would love to learn other countries' sign languages because i think there's something so beautiful about sign language.

PHILOSOPHY

LET GO, LET FLOW. i need to remind myself that there is not much time in my life and i know i need to let go and let flow and see what life will bring me.

Music, Movies, and Books

i am a book, tv, movie addict. i love to read books (i have way too many), i also am an excellent couch potato. i could veg out in the front of tv all day and be content. i also like to go and watch movies in theaters with friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i know i did see many amazing things in my life but i feel it's not enough. i need more amazing things that i've seen and done in my lifetime.

one amazing thing i've seen/done recently is to be involved with a protest regarding appointing a deaf president of the deaf university in D.C. (gallaudet university) in 2005. that was one of the hardest experiences i have ever had in my life and also one of the rewarding experiences.

Teach, Learn, Share

i want to learn how to LIVE. especially in other countries. i feel very sheltered here in america and i want to learn, experience, and be shocked out of my shell. SHOCK ME.

Countries I’ve Visited

Dominican Republic, Mexico, Netherlands

Countries I’ve Lived In
