About Me
Please note: I will not accept a friend request if we have not met in person. Wishing you all happy travels and hosting.
CURRENT MISSION
Working on my goals in the U.S. to build a good business with enough passive income that I can get back to adventuring mostly full time in my future! I’m enjoying putting down some roots, growing things and getting to host instead of being hosted.
PLEASE READ
Good day fellow travelers! Please read my profile before sending me a couch request. I love hosting and giving back to the CS community. I really want to host cool and interesting people who put some effort into their requests. Also people who want to share and exchange, not just have a place to sleep. Take care and happy travels!!
ALSO
CS is NOT a dating site. I have met many lovely life long friends and long term partners on here. While this is a great place to meet like minded people, which can sometimes turn out to be romantic, dating is never meant to be the main intention. So please do not contact me if this is what you are expecting. Thank you!
ABOUT ME
:D
I've been traveling over 9 years now full time. And of course working as I go. All sorts of jobs that have built my skills up along the way, I started out doing things such as nanny, English teacher then moved onto more outdoor fun physical stuff like crew on salmon fishing boat in Alaska, Hunting in the remote parts of New Zealand, crew on a sailing boat through the North West Passage in the Arctic (North of Canada, polar bears, ice bergs and cold!) I work sometimes as a cook and even recently for 5 months as a vegan cook in the Arctic this last year. I've also got this amazing job working in Antarctica every year as outdoor camping guide, wildlife lecturer and zodiac driver! Dream job. I also hop on sail boats to work once in a while.
In between work I travel, though my work is also travel, so life is pretty damn sweet. I'm very active, love the outdoors and am energetic! I like to go dancing and exploring and am happy to go just about anywhere. I have this thing inside me that wants to travel and see things and experience them. Love to cook and really enjoy doing this for hosts as one of my ways to give back. I'm quite into health food and am a glutard. ;) (gluten intolerant) I've been so fortunate in all my experiences, I love to share my stories and inspire people to travel. Also like to hear from others about their lifestyle and travels. Giving back is amazing and I'm aiming more towards volunteer work at the moment. Meditation, yoga and being grateful are very important things I'm constantly working to add more of into my life. I absolutely enjoy hosting and couch surfing but often end up in my tent after hitch hiking because damn it's a lot of working knowing where I'm gonna be in the future and sending CS requests. I'm usually too dis-organized to send proper couch requests. But when I do get to stay with people it's extremely rewarding on both ends, you get to make connections that are hard to come by. I also love CS hangouts and events to meet fellow travelers more casually.
My passion travel, health and healing others to have a better life when I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
If you host me I look forward to showing you how good a couchsurfer I can be! I always try and contribute something positive, it's great to make a dinner with cultural foods of a country I've been to or to do some other nice thing for my host to show my thanks. I leave places cleaner then when I arrived and am respectful and excited to meet and learn from new people all over the world! While I am traveling I will give positive energy and kindness to all those I meet and couch surf with. When I am able to I definitely host. I try and organize an event whenever I can and am in one place long enough. Always aiming to organize fun, free and non-drinking events. Drinking is great, but it is good to have fun activities outside of that. I love to do picnics and beach days! :D I look forward to sharing great experiences and meeting fellow travels. We all have something to give and learn from each other.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couch surfing the world. ;D I'm so lucky to meet such wonderful hosts and am happy to still be in touch with many of them.
Interests
Well of course travel! And sleeping on kind strangers couches. Also reading, learning, fun, culture. Going on adventures and creating my own path.
Music, Movies, and Books
Almost all old school disney movies make me happy. I think I can enjoy almost any kind of music. Reading is one of my favorite things and I really enjoy a good science fiction/fantasy novel. Or whatever books are free for my nook. ;D
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Most recent amazing things - Going to Antarctica! And in general landing a job going there, seeing penguins and elephant seals. And sailing the North West Passage.
My last 'amazing thing' Hitch hiking a friend and myself ended up in Albania at 1am. It's not the best place to be stuck in with nowhere to go in the middle of the night. So we're walking along, trying to look like we know where we are going to keep from trouble. And up on this tall cliff hill we see a castle! Do we want to sleep in a castle?? Sure do! So we make the (really hard!) climb up making sure no one spots us. We get up and realize, oh it's a castle, they are sort of hard to get into... But we luckily discover a secret passage way. Over water hopping on stones, under tiny little doors, up a ladder and voila! We made it into the fortress! What a huge castle, we explored around like silent ninjas to make sure no one was there that could cause us harm. Alas we discover that the castle was ours for the night. :)
Teach, Learn, Share
Of course the idea of a nice warm free couch, bed or floor is amazingly appealing when traveling on a budget. But what I really look forward to is the connections with fellow humans, good humans out there in the world and the sharing of knowledge and energy. Traveling alone is so rewarding but it is also nice to connect with other people and laugh. I want to learn from others and get their travel ideas and tips, hear about places they have been and want to go. In it's simplest explanation, I want to make friends. And convince you to quit your job and come travel with me!!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Travel advice and inspiration, resources. Great stories if you want to hear them but I try not to talk too much as I want to hear from you as well! I can teach you to cook, how to balance things on your head (though really this a natural talent) and share with you my joy of life. I like to talk with people about the positive ways of thinking to bring good things into your life and how being grateful for everything is very important. I like to share drinks, food, adventures and travel styles. If you're up for trying hitch hiking or going on a travel adventure we can learn a lot from each other.
