À propos de moi

Recent graduate excited to burst out of the college, college town, hometown bubble. I have a B.F.A. in Dance Performance but am interested in/fascinated by any/all art forms, visual and performing. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for theatre and enjoy exploring physical comedy, clowning, acting like a cat.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I'd forgotten I had this profile until just now! But as it happens, I'm moving to Brooklyn, NY after living in Texas all my life and would love to connect with friends near and far. I have a few road trips under my belt and always have the best time exploring a new city through a local's perspective. Excited to see more places and have more adventures!

Centres d'intérêt

Dancing in grocery store aisles,
Setting my clock ahead by a weird number of minutes (right now it's 13),
Writing,
Reading,
Going on walks,
Improv comedy,
Drawing,
Talking,
Singing in the shower and in the car,
Browsing for new music,
Writing letters,
Forcing myself to do things that I wouldn't normally do,
Every once in a while, staying up all night to put on every article of clothing I own.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Rock, jazz, funk, indie, it's all good. Tom Waits any day. Fats Waller on dreary, overcast days. Oh, and my sister's band, Reliant Tom!!!

Recently watched the documentary Paris is Burning on Netflix. Was on my list forever, so glad I finally clicked. Francis Ha gives me the feels. Brave Little Toaster, c'mon.

Some of the books I love are:

Shopgirl (technically a novella, but whatever),
Dubliners (actually one of the things that inspired me to leave Dallas, TX),
Doctor Rat (probably the most disturbing yet moving book I've ever read),
Trout Fishing in America,
Sister Carrie,
Pride and Prejudice,
On Writing.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I shaved my head. I did it the night of my high school graduation with my dad's razor, then spent the next eight weeks as a counselor at the Perry-Mansfield performing arts camp in Colorado. It made me feel incredibly vulnerable at first, but ultimately incredibly accepted by some truly beautiful people.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I love getting to know new people, hearing their stories, watching them grow, growing with them. I'm ready to do it all, again and again. Life is great, yo. People make it great.

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

Mini dance jams. All the time.
My chill Texas ways (I don't have an accent, though. Sorry).
A poem dedicated to you in lowercase.
If you're thinking of getting a tattoo and need someone to accompany you, I'm your person. I will probably get one with you.

Pays que j'ai visités
